Fans may not have to wait much longer for SZA’s next project.
Taking to Instagram, the Oscar-nominated singer celebrated the numerous accolades for her debut album Ctrl, including a triple platinum plaque for “Love Galore” and gold certifications for “Go Gina,” “Drew Barrymore,” “Normal Girl,” “Doves in the Wind,” and her personal favorite, “Supermodel.”
A grateful SZA thanked her team and fans for their support. “I CANT THANK GOD ENOUGH FOR HOW FAR IVE COME !!! AHH Amen amennn !!” she wrote. “THANK YOU ALL SO FUCKING MUCH FOR LEANING INTO THIS FREQUENCY WITH ME.”
She ended the note by assuring fans that new music is on the way. “I LOVE YOU AND I GOT CHU SHORTLY IM NOT FUCKING AROUND I PROMISE .. soon,” she told her 5.6 million Instagram followers.
SZA has been working on the long-awaited follow-up to 2017’s critically-acclaimed Ctrl, which was certified platinum and earned four Grammy nominations. Last year, she hinted at a potential deluxe edition of her debut with six new tracks, but it seems she has moved on.
On Sunday (Mar. 10), SZA will perform as part of an all-star tribute to Aretha Franklin, “Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for The Queen of Soul,” which will air on CBS.
