R. Kelly to Post $100,000 Bond, Details of Abuse Revealed in Court

R. Kelly turned himself into the South booking of the Chicago Police Department Friday evening (Feb 23). After spending the night in jail, Kells had his bond hearing at the Leighton Criminal Court Building resulting in bail for $1,000,000, broken down as $250,000 per indictment.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports during the hearing, prosecutors presented evidence that connects the DNA of R. Kelly to two of the women he allegedly abused during a rate range of 1998 to 2008.

Details from inside the courtroom reveal Kelly stared at the ground while the Jennifer Gonzalez, Assistant State’s Attorney, read off the details of the allegations. Of the $1,000,000 bail amount, the troubled singer would have to offer $100,000 to be a free man before the trail started. Steven Greenberg, attorney for Kelly, stated he will post the amount Saturday evening, however, he would have to give up his passport and is not supposed to have any type of contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Details that were read in court today are revealed on the timeline and state R. Kelly forced sexual contact with girls, along with additional graphic details.

Appearing in court today were the two ladies who were highlighted in the final installments of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, Jocelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, who have been stated to have been isolated from their families.

R. Kelly is scheduled to be back in court on Monday.
