New York rapper 50 Cent has confirmed reports about a “Power” crew member losing his life on-set of the show’s production ultimately shutting down the Starz series.

According to reports, the tragic accident happened a few hours ago in New York during season six production.
An early morning accident on the set of the sixth season of Power today has left a production assistant dead. Pedro Jimenez was fatally struck by a SUV at around 4:30 AM ET Monday while setting up parking cones for a Brooklyn location shoot for the Starz series. In the midst of the filming for the upcoming season of the Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson EP’d and Courtney Kemp created drama, Power has temporally shut down production. (Deadline)
Starz has since released a statement on the fatal accident.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our ‘Power’ family,” a Starz spokesperson said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.” (Statement)
The popular Starz series is reportedly shutting down its production in respect of Jimenz’s family.
It is unknown at this time precisely how long the production shut down will last. “Power,” which is in production on its sixth season, had a production break scheduled for the holidays, though whether or not the show will resume production prior to the break remains to be seen. (Variety)
