Ishmael Gaynor, hailing from Yonkers, NY by way of Washington, DC, started his stand-up comedy career in Washington, DC. He grew up in the entertainment business where his father and mother worked in the music and fashion industry respectively. Their grind rubbed off on him. He has quickly risen through the ranks of both the NYC and Washington, DC comedy communities with his gut-busting, conversational style and his tell-it-like-it-is approach. He has won 25 comedy competitions and 30 comedy festivals.

Ishmael has been compared to comedy greats like Hannibal Buress and Chris Rock. He has been featured on Comedy Hype and has performed at numerous prestigious comedy festivals including Just for Laughs’ Eat My Shorts, the NY Comedy Festival, Houston Comedy Festival, DC Comedy Festival, Baltimore Comedy Festival, and the Harlem Comedy Festival. He also made a cameo appearance on the popular TV show “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.”
