Pusha T is keeping the peace.
While he’s moved on from his beef with Drake, the “Neck & Wrist” rapper addressed a rumored feud with Slim Shady during his appearance on “The Morning Hustle.”
Push was asked if there were any rappers he would “kill lyrically,” but ultimately decided to give them a pass. Instead of naming names, he kept it positive and declined to say.
“I don’t even want to even put the energy out there,” he said.
Pusha went on to mention that he heard about a rumored rivalry between him and Eminem, however, there’s no bad blood between the rappers.
“It was like a misinterpretation of something I said or whatever, but you know how people decode it and they have their own thing. I was like, ‘Nah, man, Em is somebody that I respect,’” he said before citing Em’s 1998 Lyricist Lounge appearance. “He’s one of them people that I really like what he does because, in all of his success, I can still find Lyricist Lounge Eminem.”
Pusha aspires to maintain the same level of consistency as the “Rap God.” “That’s a goal for me, personally. I want to always be able to make Daytona level, It’s Almost Dry level, uncompromised rap,” he said. “Whatever my highest point will be, I want to always be able to make that.”
He also used his favorite rapper, JAY-Z, as an example. “When I reached all the successes I can possibly reach, I would make Black Album 10 times after that.”
Pusha reached a new milestone with his latest album It’s Almost Dry, which is expected to become his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200, debuting with around 55,000 equivalent album units.
