Almighty Jay No Longer on the Atlantic Records Roster

It’s never too late to change your stage name…well at least not in Mulatto’s rule book. Almighty Jay, formerly known as YBN Almighty Jay seems to follow Cordae in his footsteps of dropping the YBN acronym from his name after revealing to fans that he hasn’t been cool with YBN Nahmir for almost two years now. The two were in a back and forth on social media last month when Almighty Jay revealed that he is also experiencing some issues with his label.

“I BEEN GOING BACK AND FORWARD WITH MY LABEL FOR MONTHS TRYNA GET THIS ‘YBN’ SH*T OFF MY NAME ON SOCIAL MEDIA,” the rapper wrote. “I’M ALMIGHTY JAY!”

YBN Nahmir responded, “I been tryna beat your ass, just like I beat your mans and them up. When y’all see cuz hurt with all them black eyes, n*ggas ain’t hit cuz with bottles this time. Tell n*ggas to drop a location in Houston we gon’ pop out.”

Well, it seems as though the 21-year-old rapper’s wish came true, as the acronym is officially dropped from his name. However, that isn’t all the rapper is ready to let go of. In a post and delete to his Instagram Almighty Jay revealed that he is officially an independent artist now.

“Thank you @atlanticrecords for everything,” he began. “As of July 19, 2021 I official became an 100% INDEPENDENT ARTIST!! TIME FOR ME TO BE MY OWN BOSS & STAND ON BUSINESS AS A CEO.”

The rapper then tagged his own label, N2L records which will now be the home of his music. Are you ready to see what Almighty Jay has to offer as an independent artist?
