According to reports, Ehud Arye Laniado suffered a fatal medical complication during his early March surgery.
The 65-year-old big wheel died of a heart attack at a private Paris hospital where he was undergoing a penis enlargement procedure. Reports say the Israeli-Belgian died on the operating table. Belgian media report that Laniad was stricken when a substance was injected into his penis triggering his demise. His company — Omega Diamonds — confirmed his death. (Toronto Sun)
Despite the perception, a surgeon has killed the idea of penis enlargement being unsafe.
Laniado’s story is tragic. But it doesn’t mean penis augmentation is unsafe, according to New York-based plastic surgeon Norman Rowe. “[Laniado’s death] had zero to do with the procedure,” Rowe, who wasn’t involved in Laniado’s case, told The Daily Beast. “This was an anesthetic death.” According to Rowe, Laniado may have opted for a couple of different penis enlargement procedures, including surgical lengthening (which involves cutting a ligament at the base of the penis) or filler injections. Additional details have surfaced on the victim’s perception of himself.
Citing Belgian media reports, The Sun on Wednesday claimed Laniado was a victim of the so-called Napoleon complex — meaning he was obsessed with his small size. The diamond trader “always focused on his appearance and how others perceived him,” according to one friend, who spoke to Belgium’s GVA newspaper. (NY Post)
