And you thought all he had poppin’ was Power and his Instagram.
Hip Hop mogul Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson has signed a wide-ranging partnership and licensing deal with the Bellator Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) series to promote a new clothing line and his champagne brand, Le Chemin du Roi.
The company said that the collaboration will lead to the launch of a ‘fashionable and edgy’ global apparel line that will carry the 43-year-old’s “Get The Strap” phrase.
Meanwhile, Le Chemin du Roi will now become fully integrated at all Bellator events through in-arena signage, mat placements and other branding opportunities.
In return, 50 Cent, who is renowned for hits such as “In da Club”, will offer a US$1 million cash prize to the winner of Saturday’s Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix.
“Mixed martial arts yields some of the most action-packed events in the world,”
said 50 Cent.
“I’m excited for people to see how I plan to shake up MMA with the integration of my ‘Get The Strap’ trademark as well as my luxury champagne Le Chemin du Roi.”
50 Cent added that he will leverage the deal to move into fighter management opportunities, working with Bellator’s roster of athletes on both scripted and unscripted projects across the Viacom networks and other outlets he has access to.
