“Paper Trail” introduced by Theghost&I genre-bending Duo made up of Inaiah Lujan of The Haunted Windchimes & In/Planes and ZETfree of Bullhead*ded & Made Up Minds. This is a very interesting song with an equally interesting cover that provokes thought & conversation based on the symbolism. The genre is hard to put a finger on but has a country Hip-Hop overtone making it completely unique. I love the rhythmic feel as the artist builds and creates a structure that hooks you in singing alone.
The story is what will make this piece of art live on. Overall genius I can’t wait to see what else this supergroup brings to the table, it reminds me slightly of Shwayze creators of “Buzzin” & “Corona & Lime”. The emotion behind this record is what brought out the impact I was able to connect with it right away. Bigge Smalls mentions he used to listen to country music as a child and it enhanced his storytelling ability.
As time goes on I can only see this duo’s chemistry growing and creating more hits as the result. “Paper Trail” rhyme structure is better than most emcees these days as he crafts the master of ceremony attributes in many ways. Personally, I love an artist who steps outside the box and finds new ways of expressing themselves through musical arts, this is the type of content that moves our culture forward.

New York rapper Cardi B‘s sister sounds like she’s completely with the smoke. A new screenshot has emerged of Hennessy Carolina taking a direct shot at her sibling’s publicized rap rival.
This weekend, Carolina clapped at a fan for getting at Cardi’s Global Citizen Festival in New York City by dragging Nicki Minaj‘s name into the mix.
Sources directly involved in the management and music promotion for Cardi B’s debut album tell The Blast it is “absolutely false” that anyone got paid or gifts in exchange for airtime. They’re responding to Nicki Minaj going on her Queen Radio and eviscerating her hip-hop foe. (The Blast)
On a recent Queen Radio broadcast, Nicki Minajexploded on Cardi and accused her of sending racist messages to a black woman on social media.
“Calling a dead child a monkey but telling people somebody talked about your child that nobody talked about your motherf*cking child so you can get some f*cking sympathy points?! Now we’re gonna get it in. Now we going to get into some things because I’m tired of people f*cking lying on me. So we gonna get into some things. You want to talk about stopping bags but there’s two innocent girls in the strip club right now that did nothing but go to the strip club and get money. Now they can’t get no money. Now who’s stopping bags? Because you got grown a** f*cking men showing up to where they at and where they work at. They can’t feed they kids. They can’t feed they f*cking family. They can’t feed they f*cking family because you mad at what another man sticking his d*ck inside of. You mad at a woman for what a man is doing!” (Queen Radio)
New York hip-hop artist Swizz Beatz can’t get behind the Make America Great Again movement. The rap producer has come forward to share his issues with Kanye West claiming he’s getting bullied for donning the controversial pro-Donald Trump hat.
Swizzy jumped on Instagram Sunday (September 30) and kept things super 100 on the drama Kanye’s created with his message-driven head apparel.
“Yeah I just seen the ‘SNL’ Kanye and I hear you talking about you’re being bullied for the hat. It feels kinda funny because we were just talking about that less than 48 hours ago. Teyana Taylor was in the studio – a bunch of people were in the studio and I was just addressing how uncomfortable the culture feels with you representing somebody that’s blatantly hurting our people. You understand? Ain’t nobody bullying you. We love you. We love you. We’re not bullying you but you gotta stop that sh*t, man. That sh*t ain’t right.”
Like many, I don’t watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) – no longer funny, no talent or charm. It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”), was great. He’s leading the charge!
So if African-American unemployment is now at the lowest number in history, median income the highest, and you then add all of the other things I have done, how do Democrats, who have done NOTHING for African-Americans but TALK, win the Black Vote? And it will only get better!
Recently, Bad Boy Records CEO Diddyrefused to dig into Ye’s support for Trump.
“Nah, I’m good. I’m good,” Puffy said when asked for his take on Kanye/Trump becoming publicized fans of one another. “I wouldn’t make a good president. I wouldn’t really pass any of the things that you have to pass, but I guess Trump did it . . . But no, I like doing what I’m doing. I don’t know if I could be responsible for the whole country.” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live!”)
The 6-track project features Elton John—on the long-touted “Rocket Man” remix, here titled “High”—plus Jaden Smith and 6lack. On the Rvn closely follows Thug’s previous LP, Slime Language which dropped August 17 and featured Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby, Gunna, and more. He recently shared the video for the project’s Gunna track “Dirty Shoes.” (Pitchfork)
In the midst of a highly-publicized feud with Nicki Minaj, Cardi B’s sister Hennessy Carolina has taken up the battle on the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s behalf.
The Shade Room posted a video of Cardi performing at Saturday’s Global Citizen Festival in New York City. One commenter criticized the performance, writing, “She has no stage presence.”
Hennessy saw the comment and responded by insulting Minaj. “But Nicki be on drugs on stage looking like a crackhead,” she wrote.
This is the latest episode in the ongoing beef between the rappers. Cardi attempted to attack Minaj by throwing her shoe at a New York Fashion Week party. She also called her out on Instagram for trying to sabotage her career and speaking ill about her daughter, Kulture.
Minaj denied the accusations and clapped back at Cardi during her Queen Radio show. “She has built her career off of sympathy and payola,” she said, while issuing a warning. “You put your hands on certain people, you ‘gon die. Period!”
President Donald Trump can’t get enough Kanye West. The head of state has stepped forward to applaud Yeezy for showing him love during his “Saturday Night Live” appearance.
Trump hit up Twitter Sunday (September 30) to co-sign Kanye and take swipes at “SNL” for having a political agenda with its season premiere.

“He doesn’t necessarily agree with the policies. He likes his, kind of, personality. How he made it to be president when everyone really underestimated him. He’s not political, so he doesn’t really dig deep into what’s going on. I always knew that, and always knew what he meant.” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live!”)
Lil Wayne is returning to the charts in a big way.
The rap titan’s long-awaited album Tha Carter V is expected to debut at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200. According to HITS Daily Double, the album is on track to move 475-525,000 equivalent album units in its first week, of which 165-180,000 are traditional sales.
The combined 23 tracks on C5 earned 49.5 million streams in the first 24 hours on U.S. Spotify, marking the second largest debut in the history of the streaming platform behind Drake’s Scorpion (80.5 million). Tha Carter V has since surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, according to Chart Data. Wayne also occupies 23 out of 25 of the top songs on Apple Music in the U.S.
Lil Wayne's 'Tha Carter V' has now surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.
While the numbers are impressive given Wayne’s seven-year gap in the Carter series, they are still a far cry from 2011’s Tha Carter IV, which sold 964,000 copies in its first week (prior to the streaming era).
Elsewhere on next week’s charts, look out for Logic, whose album YSIV is projected to do 90-110,000 copies (45-55k traditional) in its first week. Meanwhile, Kanye West is expected to release his album Yandhi sometime this weekend.
Kanye West kicked off the season premiere of “SNL” as musical guest, but it was his off-air comments that had everyone talking.
After his closing performance of “Ghost Town” with Kid Cudi, 070 Shake, and Ty Dolla $ign, West delivered a speech in support of President Donald Trump, which was cut from the live broadcast due to time. The comments were captured on social media by audience members including Chris Rock.
Wearing a red Make America Great Again hat and standing in front of “SNL” cast members, he delivered an impromptu monologue after the credits rolled, which received boos from some audience members. “I wanna cry right now. Black man in America, you’re supposed to keep what you feel inside right now,” he said (via People). “And the liberals bully you and tell you what you can and cannot wear, where you and they can’t not stare. And they look at me and say, ‘It’s not fair. How the hell did you get here?’”
He went on to defend Trump against accusations of racism. “It’s so many times that I talk to a white person about this, and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, if I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America a long time ago. We don’t just make our decisions off of racism. I’ma break it down to you right now: If someone inspires me and I connect with them, I don’t have to believe in all they policies.”
He continued, “Actually, blacks weren’t always Democrats. It’s like a plan they did to take the fathers out the home and promote welfare. Does anybody know about that? That’s the Democratic plan.”
After receiving a few claps, West added, “And what this shows is we can’t be controlled by monolithic thought. You can’t always have when you have a black subject matter like Cosby that you have to have a black comedian talk about it.”
He reiterated his plan to run for president in 2020. “And when I said I’m running in 2020, all my smart friends talked so much s**t about me. And when I saw that man win, I said, ‘See, I told you. I could have been there.’”
When an audience member yelled, “F**k Trump,” West responded, “Now you got a situation where we need to have a dialogue and not a diatribe because if you want something to change, it’s not going to change by saying, ‘F**k that person.’ Try love. Try love. Try love. Try love.”
He also addressed his controversial MAGA hat. “You see they laughing at me. You heard ’em, they scream at me, they bully me. They bullied me backstage they said, ‘Don’t go out there with that hat on.’ They bullied me backstage. They bullied me. And then they say I’m in a sunken place. You want to see the sunken place? Okay, I’ma listen to y’all now.
Or I’ma put my Superman cape on, which means you can’t tell me what to do,” he said. “Follow your heart and stop following your mind. That’s how we’re controlled. That how we’re programmed. If you want the world to move forward, try love.”
Chris Rock, who recorded the speech for his Instagram Story, seemed to whisper “My God” at one point.
Following the “SNL” airing, some of Kanye’s peers including Questlove spoke out about his appearance. “Like i find it strange he isn’t trending at all, yet we all typing the same thing, but for all that ‘he cancelled’ talk there was an ounce of hope in our souls tonight,” said The Roots drummer. “But all we got was…well…I’m kinda sad man.”

Swizz Beatz also weighed in on Kanye’s Trump support. “I just seen that ‘SNL’ Kanye and I hate you talking about you being bullied for the hat,” he said. “It feels kinda funny ’cause we was just talking about the hat less than 48 hours ago. Teyana Taylor was in the studio, Ferg was in the studio, a bunch of people was in the studio. And I was just addressing how uncomfortable the culture feels with you representing somebody that’s blatantly hurting our people. Ain’t nobody bullying you, we love you. But you gotta stop that shit. That shit ain’t right.”
Despite the comments, Kanye has apparently been invited back to “SNL” by the show’s creator Lorne Michaels, but this time as host.
“had so much fun at SNL. Lorne agreed that I would host before the year is out,” tweeted Ye. “Need to set a date. Gonna be sooooooooo lit. In the words of Lil Pump …Esskeetit !”

It might have felt like the early 2000s again for many Hip-Hop fans Saturday night (Sept. 29) at the Art Of Cool music festival when Phonte, Rapper Big Pooh, and 9th Wonder banded together once again. The trio better known to the masses as Little Brotherrocked together for the first time in a decade in a crowd-pleasing set.
Little Brother was not a scheduled act, but after booked act Royce Da 5’9 reportedly missed his flight, 9th Wonder got the gang together and back into action. Posts on the members’ respective social media account made the announcement official, and despite press in the past stating this moment wouldn’t happen again, it was clear the chemistry between the men has never wavered.
Fans caught video of Phonte and Big Pooh pushing each other with 9th Wonder providing the backdrop per usual. While this moment certainly satiated fans of the group and sparked hopes of a return to making music, time will tell if the group will hop back into the studio to give listeners a new project.
Check out the footage of Little Brother’s Art Of Cool set below courtesy of CLTure Media.
The estate of the late Tupac “2Pac” Shakurhas settled a years-long lawsuit that will bring to the masses at least two new 2Pac albums, and a possible third. A lawsuit brought forth by 2Pac’s late mother, Afeni Shakur, against the company that bought out Death Row Records has been settled and shelved material from her son will finally see the light.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Tupac’s estate filed documents this week stating the two sides have agreed to settle the suit. Shakur’s now-deceased mother, Afeni, had previously filed the case against Entertainment One, which bought Death Row a few years back, and claimed they were owed over a million bucks.
Sources close to the deal tell us a cash settlement was made that will go to Tupac’s estate, but the estate will also be getting a ton of unreleased recordings the late rapper made.
We’re told there are enough master recordings for at least 2, and possibly 3 new albums. As of now there is not a date set for when they will drop, but we’re told the plan is to start cranking them out ASAP.
We wonder how former Death Rows bossSuge Knight will be taking the news while behind bars.
