2 Chainz has put out one of 2019’s best albums in the form of Rap Or Go To The League. One of the most acclaimed tracks from his fifth solo studio LP is “Rule The World,” which features Ariana Grande. As he continues to roll out key visuals from the project, the Atlanta, Georgia veteran just released the video for the standout collaboration with the Pop superstar. The moment is not without some noteworthy history surrounding the two performers. Directed by Sebastian Sdaigui, the visual features the two artists performing at a Los Angeles Jazz club. It may appear straightforward concept-wise, but the shots in the video are beautifully set up, and the set is very luxurious. 2 Chainz Celebrates Black Wealth & Buys The Block In His New Video Back in February, Chainz hopped on the remix of Ariana’s thank u, next song “7 rings.” The remix addition came after many fans noted strong similarities between the former TV star’s pink music video and artwork to Chainz’ Pretty Girls Like Trap Music moment “Spend It.” 2 Chainz and Ariana made peace with the situation. “In this particular case, I’ve known her manager for a very f*cking long time,” 2 Chainz said, according to Rap Genius. “So they set it up so we could actually meet and talk face-to-face… I think that kind of changed everything because I started getting what was going on, having a clear understanding of what was going on. She was more or less saying that, ‘Well, yeah, I thought people knew I took it from you.’” In the wake of that understanding and the subsequent remix, the pair made this song all about love. LeBron James Has Coached 2 Chainz On 1 Of His Most Soulful & Lyrical Songs (Audio) “Fell in love with a real one, this a dedication / Had ’em patiently waitin’ for a revelation / Even when I ain’t around, ain’t no separation / Your skin’s smooth, your eyes brown and you’re far from basic / Then we go to different places with no suitcases / But when we come back, we got suitcases / Right now I use love for a medication / Back in the day I’d shoot Cupid with no hesitation / I got more than 40 acres for my reparations / P*ssy on my navigation, that’s my destination,” 2 Chainz spits after the chorus. Rap Or Go To The League, which debuted at #4, was released earlier this month. In addition to Ariana, the project involves a myriad of heavy-hitters including 9th Wonder, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla Sign, and Kendrick Lamar, among others. Lebron James served as an A&R to his friend’s latest Def Jam LP. Ariana Grande released thank u, next back in February. Last week, 2 Chainz dropped the visual for “Money In The Way.”
